Lutasan ("we", "us") is the developer of the Lutasan iOS application and the operator of lutasan.com. You can reach us any time at hello@lutasan.com.
Lutasan is a voice capture app. You record a spoken note; Lutasan transcribes it, splits it into individual items (tasks, calendar events, email drafts, reminders, and text messages), and creates those items inside the apps and accounts you choose to connect, such as Todoist, Google Calendar, Gmail, Apple Calendar, and Apple Reminders. Nothing is connected until you connect it.
When you record a note, the audio is transcribed and the transcript is processed by an AI service to split it into items (see "AI processing" below). Transcripts of your notes and the items created from them are stored in the app so you can review and undo recent commits.
If you join the waitlist on lutasan.com, we collect your email address and use it only to tell you about Lutasan's availability and major updates. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. We do not sell or share this list.
When you connect a service (such as Google or Todoist), we store the secure authorization tokens needed to act on your behalf. We do not see or store your passwords. Sign-in happens directly with the service (for example, Google's own sign-in screen).
This section describes exactly how Lutasan accesses, uses, stores, and shares data from Google APIs, as required by Google's policies.
calendar.events). Used for one purpose: creating new calendar events from your voice notes. Although this permission technically allows viewing and editing events, Lutasan only creates new events. It does not read, edit, or delete your existing events.gmail.compose). Used for one purpose: creating email drafts from your voice notes, in your own Gmail account, for you to review and send yourself. Lutasan never sends email on your behalf. This permission does not allow reading your inbox, and Lutasan cannot see your existing email, contacts, or conversations.Google user data is used solely to provide the features you see in the app: creating the calendar events and email drafts you asked for by speaking them. We do not use Google user data for advertising, market research, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the app's visible functionality.
We store the authorization tokens Google issues so the app can create events and drafts when you capture a note. The content of events and drafts we create is retained in the app's recent-activity history so you can review and undo commits. We do not maintain a copy of your calendar or mailbox. We never had access to them in the first place.
We do not sell, rent, or share Google user data with third parties, with these narrow exceptions required to operate the app: (1) the transcript of your note (which may include the text of an event or draft being created) is sent to our AI processing provider to split and structure it, under contractual terms that prohibit using it for anything other than providing that service; and (2) we will disclose data if legally required to do so. We do not transfer Google user data to advertisers, data brokers, or analytics platforms.
Lutasan's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically: we only use Google user data to provide and improve user-facing features of Lutasan; we do not transfer it except as necessary to provide those features, for security purposes, or to comply with law; we do not use it for advertising; and we do not allow humans to read it except with your explicit permission, for security purposes, to comply with law, or in aggregated, anonymized form. We do not use Google user data to develop, improve, or train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
Splitting a rambled note into structured items is done by a third-party AI model provider. What is sent: the transcript of your note and the minimal context needed to structure it (such as the current date and your timezone). What is not sent: your Google or Todoist credentials, your inbox, your calendar, or your contact list. Our AI provider processes this data to provide the service and is contractually restricted from using it for other purposes.
If you connect Todoist, Lutasan uses your authorization to create tasks in your Todoist account, and nothing else. Apple Calendar, Apple Reminders, and Messages are accessed on your device through Apple's own iOS permissions, which you grant in the app and can revoke at any time in iOS Settings; that data is handled on your device.
Your capture history is retained so you can review and undo commits. You can delete individual captures or your entire history in the app at any time. Disconnecting a service revokes Lutasan's access and deletes the stored authorization tokens for that service; you can also revoke Lutasan's Google access directly at myaccount.google.com/permissions. To delete your waitlist email or request deletion of all data we hold about you, email hello@lutasan.com and we will complete the request within 30 days.
Authorization tokens and app data are stored using industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Access on our side is limited to what is required to operate the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we deliberately minimize what we can access in the first place. The less we can touch, the less can go wrong.
Lutasan is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
If we make material changes to this policy, especially any change to how Google user data is handled, we will update this page, revise the effective date above, and notify users in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
